Rare Roger Maris Single Signed Baseball JSA. Additionally, many believe he is worthy of the Hall of Fame, especially in light of recent selections by various Veterans Committees. He was an accomplished player for certain: a 2X MVP winner, capturing the award consecutively in 1960 and 1961; 7-time All Star (in his 12-year career); 2-time RBI leader; gold glove winner; a member of 3 world championships, as well as 7 pennant winning teams.

Perhaps equally important, his number 9 is retired by the Yankees. He is enshrined in Monument Park at Yankee Stadium. Maris had been sick the last two years of his life and died at the young age of 51 on December 14, 1985. The hobby was still in its infancy and therefore he didnt attend shows and sign product in bulk, like his counterparts Mantle, DiMaggio, Mays and Williams.

The autographs extant are from a few limited signing he did in the early 1980s and those he gratuitously penned for fans.
