1978 George Steinbrenner Bud Selig Signed Baseball Game Used Official Ball

This is a game used ball that I caught in the stands on June 28th 1978. The game was a double header between the Yankees and my home town Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers were in the American League back then. They switched leagues sometime after that. I wrote the scores of the games on the sweet spot of the ball after returning home that day. While walking out of the stadium that day, and waiting to see some of the players coming up the ramp for their cars and for the Yankees to get in their bus, I was very fortunate to see Bud Selig, our chief owner of the Milwaukee Brewers and asked him to sign my ball, which he did. Bud Selig's real name is Alan Selig, but he used his nickname Bud forever in Milwaukee especially when he was in the car business before baseball. Shortly after seeing Bud Selig, up comes George Steinbrenner. I asked him to sign my ball too and he did so and was very nice about it after dropping a double header to the Brewers. I played high school and college baseball and started collecting autographs when I was no more than 8 years old. Now, it's time to let others enjoy what I have enjoyed for decades of years. Alan "Bud" Selig was more than just the President of the Brewers. He became acting Commissioner of Major League Baseball in 1992 and held that position until 1998 when he became the Official Commissioner of Baseball in 1998 and served until 2015. He had a good reign and to top this off, I ran into Bud Selig a couple of weeks ago at his favorite lunch spot in Milwaukee which is Gilles's Custard Stand.

He can be seen there multiple times a week getting his favorite hot dogs! This is an Official American League Baseball, the stamping on this is wearing off, and the condition is as it is: Game Used and only game used. I did not play with it, nor alter it in any way.
